I got up from my computer and began nervously sweeping the floor while blasting music in my ears. As I swept a dust bunny into the dustpan, I had a revelation. I don’t have to define myself as anything.

Before I had my spiritual connection, I used to think I had to carry it all myself. I always thought life was just going to feel a little heavier and harder for me.
As humans, we crave certainty. We want to book our plane tickets, know our five-year-plan, and have a map laid out for exactly how we’ll climb the corporate ladder. Certainty feels good, but it’s never promised.
I’ve learned to love being in an inspired state of mind. When I’m in that state, I’m able to attract goodness into my life with ease. I manifest my desires naturally, without the need to push or “make things happen”.
When we begin to understand ourselves on a deeper level, we can find the “why” behind our behavior. When we actually understand our behavior, life begins to operate more seamlessly. We feel happier and more naturally in tune with ourselves. In addition to meditation and journaling, one of the most powerful ways I’ve gotten to know myself deeper during this quarantine is through human design.
There’s no friend, mother, husband, self-help author, or podcast host who can tell you exactly what’s right for you. The answers always lie within you. The power is in you learning to trust that you have all of those answers.
Regardless of what comes my way after my morning practice, I feel confident in my ability to handle it because I know I’ve taken the time to center myself first. Getting grounded and still is my way of putting on an invisible armor for the day. It’s how I protect myself from the stress, anxiety, and panic coming from the world around me.
I try to think good thoughts which makes me feel good, which simply brings more good to me. I live by this because I’ve seen it work in my life countless times with cool opportunities, crazy synchronicities, and generally good luck.
Our spiritual work is to clear the senseless clutter from our minds so that we’re better able to recognize and receive the divine lessons coming our way.
Often times, when we want something so badly, we become forceful about it. We begin trying to control every circumstance around it. We become obsessed with getting our desired outcome because we know, without a doubt, we must have this thing in our lives.
